a: Photo album of famous Masons from America, England, and Ireland including Rob Morris, Albert Pike, and Van Rensselaer. There are also photographs of Masonic Temples in America and abroad. Compiled by Sereno D. Nickerson (1828-1909). b-c: Letter and (c) envelope addressed to Sereno D. Nickerson.

In the 1870s and 1880s, Sereno Nickerson, a student of the history of Freemasonry and the Grand Master of Massachusetts from 1871 to 1874, gathered photographs, many signed, in this album. The 77 cabinet cards—photographs mounted on stiff card—he collected include fellow Masonic scholars and writers from the United States and Europe. He also gathered photographs of Masonic buildings in America and abroad in his collection.
