Masonic symbols chart; variety of Masonic symbols including square and compasses, Holy Bible, columns, globes, crossed keys, pens, hourglass, altar, coffin, stars; center reads "L. M. CAMPBELL / A. J. L. No. 88. / AUG. 1859."; bottom reads "BROTHERLY - LOVE - RELIEF - & - TRUTH -"; in yellow, green, red, brown.

With over ninety different symbols used in Freemasonry’s first three degrees, over the years Masons have developed different visual representations of these symbols to help both recall symbols and to teach their meanings to new initiates. This Masonic chart—decorated with painted and stenciled emblems colored with watercolor, ink and crayon—could have been created by Lemuel Campbell or made for him, likely to commemorate his joining Andrew Jackson Lodge No. 88 of Linden, Texas, in 1859.
