Tintype photograph of unidentified man. The man is seated at a table with his right elbow resting on the table. He wears a suit and holds a book in his right hand. There are four books stacked on the table beside him. The edges of the book and his pocket watch chain are tinted gold, his cheeks are tinted a slight pink color and his ascot is tinted a gray-blue. The photo shows through a brass oval frame. The case is wrapped in brown paper; the cover of the case is lined in dark red velvet and is embossed with a decorative leaf pattern. There is a metal hook and eye clasp on the sides of the case.
