White silk Masonic apron with purple silk pleated border and hand-painted Masonic symbols of columns, floor, steps, coffin, globes, key, dove (or other bird) with sprig and banner etc. Text on banner reads "Holiness to the Lord" Written in pencil under flap: "Apron of John Light / 1799 / see cert. / England (?)".
This apron traveled, along with a mark medal and a certificate, when its owner, John Light, a member of Mariner’s Lodge in Liverpool, journeyed from England to America.
